Who We Are
The Foundation for Environment and Development (FEDEV) is a public interest not-for-profit organization founded in 2002 by professionals from diverse backgrounds, including Environmentalists, Lawyers, Economists, Conservationists, Farmers, and Agronomists.
We pride ourselves in legal and policy research, advocacy, strategic litigation, conflict management, multi-stakeholder convenings, conflict management and peace building community outreach and environmental and human rights capacity building at all levels.
FEDEV is a non-profit organization seeking to advance environmental justice, sustainable and equitable use of natural resources, democracy and good governance in the natural resources and environment sector. We understand that effective environmental and natural resources management policies, strategies and legal frameworks must empower and protect everyone, especially the vulnerable in our communities.
Our work advances the public interests of rural and urban communities, community-based organizations, local authorities, parliamentarians, government departments, public and private sectors.
Our work is anchored on the principle that the public and private sectors must respect human rights, protect the environment and be totally accountable to citizens regarding natural resources and the environment in general.
To promote sustainable development, environmental protection, sound natural resource management, good governance and respect for human rights via the instrumentality of laws and policies locally, nationally and internationally.

Buea Workshop - Greening the Cameroon Judiciary
FEDEV and Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide (USA) organized Workshop on Environmental Law and Litigation for the Cameroonian judiciary.
The workshop aimed at Strengthening the capacity of Cameroon’s magistrates in Environmental Litigation. Magistrates play a critical role in the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Bamenda Workshop - Greening the Cameroon Judiciary
In collaboration with Environmental Law Alliance Worldwide, FEDEV organized a Workshop on Environmental Law and Litigation for the Cameroonian judiciary.
Strengthening the capacity of judges in Environmental Litigation, is critical to the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development.
Judicial environmental activism will enhance environmental justice, respect for environmental rule of law and ensure that the present generation will satisfy their need without compromising the inherent rights and interest of succeeding generations. –
